FATE Con is on!
To celebrate the print release of the FATE Core roleplaying game by Evil Hat, we are proud to host FATE Con, a full day of FATE powered gaming. This event will take place Saturday, August 10, from 10am to 7pm at EndGame, Oakland.
There will be two time slots; morning and afternoon – the morning slot is from 10am to 2pm and the afternoon slot is from 3pm to 7pm.
We have space to run 7 games in each time slot.
We are now taking GM submissions for FATE games. All games should use the FATE system and its variants, but can otherwise be any genre. Interested GMs should submit their FATE games to firstname.lastname@example.org following this example:
Game System: FATE Core
Scenario Name: Star Wars: Clone Wars
GM: Morgan Ellis
Power Level: Jedi
Number of Players: 4
Characters provided? Yes
Description: A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…. The dark shadow of war has fallen over the galaxy, the Clone Wars continue to rage. The heroic Jedi Knights battle to restore peace to the Galactic Republic, but the sinister darkness grows ever darker and threatens to engulf the galaxy forever. Come play in a high action, cinematic Star Wars FATE game inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series.
GM’s please state your time slot preference when you submit your game(s), but please be aware that once the AM slot is full, your game will be placed in the PM slot. Game submissions will be accepted until July 22.
Player sign-ups will be online only starting on July 27. Watch this space for more details.
For those GM’s doing this for the first time (which we love) please remember our con guidelines:
- Your game session should last 4 hours.
- The session should have seats for 3-6 players.
- You should be prepared to provide characters or make them during play.
- You should be prepared to have total beginners in your game.
Few Notes about FATE Con in general:
Parking – The best and most economical place to park is the lot directly behind Mexicali Rose on 8th and Clay. It costs $3 for 24hrs and the machine takes cash, and credit cards. The real win is the fact that if you park here, you won’t have to run out to feed the meter.
Final word of warning. DO NOT PARK at the City Center Garage, or the Oakland Convention center garage. They will charge you up the WAHZOO! The City Center Garage will also close and lock you car in if you are here for the evening slot.
So, mark you calendar and tag your “FATE Player” aspect! Fate Con is on!
