I wasn't able to post from my iPod Touch. I don't know if the iPone users will have the same issue…
What's with the math?? Is that a bot-filter? With the registration process you have, do you need this?
Do we ask here for "stickies" in the various forums? I think the various "Roll Call" threads in the different categories can be updated and then sticky'd.
LOVE the banner across the top (of course), but on the main page it invites a comment, but I don't see how to leave one… Sorry if I'm just being dense (again)…

My avatar won't load. The first time I browsed and clicked update profile. It sat thinking for a while and didn't do anything. I tried to update another part of my profile and this wouldn't work. I re-logged in and tried to upload it again, this time it gave me an error code saying the file already exists. But nothing shows up?
Otherwise the new site looks great. I love the green colors, very soothing.
Edit
Also I'm getting a wierd result in my sig. I just put in text with a couple returns. In the posts the returns show up as "n"

I don't think I can solve that problem, at least not in the short term…but I will look into it.

Yes, the math is a bot-filter. It's a little redundant with the captcha box, I know, but consider it a "belt and suspenders" kind of thing.
Do we ask here for "stickies" in the various forums? I think the various "Roll Call" threads in the different categories can be updated and then sticky'd.
If you'd like a thread stickied, please make a note in that thread.
With regard to "roll call" threads specifically, we made the "meet and greet" forum to address that need. Instead of "siloing" gamers into their different micro-communities, we'd like to get everyone introduced and communicating.

No, you're not being dense. The comment system is a little opaque – you actually have to click through the title of the post you're commenting on, and then leave a comment on that page. I'm not crazy about the way it works, so I do have it on my list for an upgrade.

OK, I'll look into it. Email me a copy of your avatar please? finn@endgameoakland.com

Great! thank you.

Hm, I see that. I'll look into it today.

Great! Thanks for the answers. They all make sense to me.
One thing that I expereince on some other forums is that the response to a thread you are subscribed to is quoted in the email that you recieve. I like that because I can't often post from work, and if I was looking for a particular response I can see it. It also gives me the opportunity to respond if I need to more quickly. It's also GREAT on PMs.
I don't if that is a feature availble here (if it's something I can turn on for my account, I didn't see it), but I think it's helpful.

Lance: the sig problem seems to be with physical carriage returns. I don't know why. Instead of using carriage returns to format your signature, use standard html. Here's how you'd do it (replace the square brackets with angle brackets):
Lance[br /]"And now I'll use McMourning to cast Dissection on the Canine Remains…"[br /]Davenport

I have to say that I'm really happy the site and forums are now integrated. That was always one of my biggest complaints with the old site.
Good job!

So far, so good. Two things stand out to me:
We need a "reply to post" button at the bottom of a thread. Right now, if you have a longish-thread, you have to scroll all the way back up to the top in order to post. EDIT: Oh, wait, it's there, you just can't really see it because it's white text on the light green background. Maybe change that color of text to the dark green?
It would be nice if there was an option to disable auto-subscriptions for threads you post.
I'm sure more things will come up, but it's been a pretty good transition so far!

There is…go to profile, personal options. It's the only option there.

Negative, that's for threads I post in, not threads I post (start). Threads you start you are auto-subscribed to, atm.

Frank: There are a bunch of checkboxes underneath the smileys, just to the left of the "post new topic" button. The first one is for subscriptions. You should be able to toggle it off when you post. I'll see if I can find a switch in the admin interface somewhere that changes the default.
There are several readability issues here and there that I'm still catching because the forum styling code is pretty messy and broken. The "reply" at the bottom of the page is on the list.

Finn, overall, the new forums rule! I like the Growl-esque confirmations (though it would be a tiny bit sweeter in the upper left corner), and the whole thing is just more slick in general (I imagine that they will be much easier to maintain as well because phpbb can be a nightmare to deal with). Two tiny bits of room for improvement:
1) When I first come to the forums, though I'm already logged in, I'm hit with the "Register/Back to Forums" page. It would be nice to just get dropped off in the forums page since I'm already logged in.
2) Totally into Black Sword's (sorry dude, I'm going to call you "King Pimp Adan" from now on) suggestion for us to actually see the response when we are emailed via our thread subscription.
Re: King Pimp Adan's iPhone/iTouch issues, you could always address this with a conditional stylesheet specifically for that user agent, and it is also easy enough to create conditional php functions to do the same if there is an issue with the html. I can post a snippet of code for you if you'd like, I have to deal with this crap at work sometimes, and it's no more difficult to get around that stupid IE bugs.
Overall though, things are looking awesome!

Huh, that's weird. Is it a one-time thing after you register or does it happen every time? Drop me an email at finn@endgameoakland.com with more details and I'll see what I can do to re-create & troubleshoot.

OK, I'll move it up the priority list.
Re: King Pimp Adan's iPhone/iTouch issues, you could always address this with a conditional stylesheet specifically for that user agent,
HA HA HA
You should see the dog's breakfast that is the CSS for this software. Or just take a look at any given page with firebug and count the classes. Oy.
That being said, I'd be interested in talking to you more about it – but it's pretty far down the list at the moment.
Overall though, things are looking awesome!
Thanks. Still a number of things that offend my delicate IxD sensibilities, but it's getting there.

One minor issue I see is that the way sub forums are presented, you can't tell if there are new posts.

Great new look and function! I like the layout for the forums. I especially like the list of new posts that displays.
One minor thing – the old forum allowed editing a post even after it had been replied to. My own personal preference is to be able to do this – sometime I find that I made grammatical errors and want to change them. Though I understand the philosphy of not being able to back edit posts too.
