Hi there,

I'm going to be down in Belmont this coming week (April 5-9) for some training. I'm a Utahn who loves playing board games with family and friends and tries to hit up gaming sessions at my local game store (gamenightgames.com) whenever I can.

In looking for things to do in the evenings, I found your store and saw that you list an open gaming night on Wednesdays.

Not knowing the area and realizing that it's ~30+ minutes travel to Oakland, I figured I'd check in before "booking" my Wednesday plans.

It looks like you're having a con this weekend which may either increase or decrease your open gaming attendance…but generally speaking, is there usually a decent turnout of gamers on Wednesdays such that a newcomer/visitor could hop in on a session or two?

I'm a fan of trying out new games and have played many of the "classics" though I usually steer clear of the heavier/lengthier stuff.  Not really into wargames that last more than an hour (except for semi-annual games of Risk and/or Axis & Allies).  I'm on BGG as theokester.

I'll subscribe to this thread.  I may also call the store on Wednesday evening after dinner to get a feel for things.

The MiniCon is all RPG-related so it shouldn't affect our board game night. Turnout is variable, but there are always enough people here to get a game or two in. You're certainly welcome to call if you like. Folks generally start showing up around 6pm but trickle in as late as 8pm. Hope to see you here!
