Nice work, as usual. If I had to make a constructive comment, I would say that (at least in the photos) it seems too bright. I picture it as a deeper red.

Yeah, it's not actually that bright. I'm using a new camera and I don't quite have it down yet.

Okay, I took about 20 new pictures and only one came close to the actual color of the model. I used a flash for it, which I usually avoid because it washes out color. For some reason it had the opposite effect here. The problem I'm having is with this box I built. It's an 8 inch cubed box with white paper walls. I light it from both sides so that the model is well lit but not over lit. What I think is happening is that it's too dim in there and the camera can't make out separate shades of color. So I try to brighten the picture in Picasa and I get that bright yellow and pink. There is a pink highlight, but the base is much more red. Long story short, too late, here's my new best picture…and it's still not quite it.

Perhaps it's the type of lamps you are using? I'm only guessing….
That looks much more like the effect you were describing. Nice work (as usual).

It looks to me like an issue with your camera's automatic white balance. Automatic color balance might also be a culprit. Some suggestions to resolve the problem:
Experiment with white balance in manual mode. My camera, for example, has settings for incandescent, daylight, fluorescent, and a few others. Take a photo with each available setting. Then use the setting that makes your whites look white and not yellow.
If your camera's manual mode lets you set the autofocus point, you can use a color card to resolve color balance issues. It's easier to show than to tell:

Since I use a grey-blue background for my photos, the red/yellow/green keeps the camera's color balance fairly accurate. The black and white set absolute dark and light values for contrast. I manually set the auto focus point to the midpoint of the model (the midriff in this case) and snap the picture. From there it's a simple crop job in whatever photo editing application you have.

Hope that helps.
