The other night Chad, Adan, and I were talking about setting some kind of painting goals for the new year, in the hopes of both generating more interest in Warmachine/Hordes and getting some fully painted games in.  I don't know if anyone else is interested, but I'm going to be doing it myself at least–ideally finishing 15 points by the end of January, 25 points by the end of February, and 35 points by the end of March.  The model count is very low (at 35 points my list will probably still be under 10 models) so it should be a pretty achievable goal even for a slow painter… if anyone has any interest in the game, it could be a fun way to get started + get inspired.

I painted up Hoarluk Doomshaper a few months ago with the intention of putting together a beast-heavy Trollblood army, so that's what I'll be doing and I'm pretty much starting from scratch.  I'm definitely not the best painter, but I'll post some pictures throughout the process… and I'm looking forward to trashing some 'jacks with the biggest of dire trolls, so let's do this.  laugh

I might be more inclined to do a unit per month — maybe 5 or 6 models or 1 warjack minimum.  My model count is a *bit* higher than yours….

I already have my 15 point Amon list painted (finished it for Kubla last year), but not my 25 (or 35).  I also want to finish my pHaley 15/25/35 lists, my Kreoss Knights lists and my Ashlynn lists.  I would like to suggest that people try to list out the units per month they would like to finish, and then post photos as they go.

That sounds like a better plan.  Here are my minimums…

January: Greylord Ternion, Iron Fang Pikeman UA + Standard Bearer, Widowmaker Marksman (finishing off my eIrusk 35pt list)

February: Extreme Dire Troll Mauler

March: Mulg the Ancient (15pt eDoomy complete)

April: Earthborn Dire Troll (25pt eDoomy complete)

May: Troll Axer, Runebearer

June: 5 Whelps (35pt eDoomy finished!)

Edit: Forgot the whelps… that's going to add another month if I'm not rushing.

I did 40K for my 2010 painting challenge, so perhaps Warmahordes is good for 2011….

January: 2 Hunters

February: Sentinel & Lancer

March: Long Gunner Officer & Standard x2 (pHaley 25 list done) PLUS Idrian Skirmisher Chieftain & Scout

April: Idrian Skirmishers (at least one unit, maybe both)

May: 3 Allegiant of the Order of the Fist (Amon 25 list done)

June: 4 Sword Knights (pHaley 35 list done)

July: ???

Wow… This is half a year and no Kreoss progress…. Hmmm…..

Ok let's get this rolling! Here's what I am planning:

January:  Stormsmiths x3, Rheinholdt

February: Sentinel

March: pCaine & GMCA

April: Captain Maxwell Finn & Trencher Chain Gun crew

May; pNemo

Things might change up and the order may change. laugh

So the whole Windless Wastes league threw a wrench in my painting plans, as I wanted to get all the Trolls playable for Brandon instead of painting the Khador + we have been playing a lot more than normal lately.  BUT, I did finish the Greylord Ternion–although I think I am going to end up trading all of my Khador for Trolls anyways.

I decided I really wanted to paint the Whelps next… they should be done in the near future.  I might try and get 'em done tomorrow, keeping me somewhat on "schedule" for February.  wink

I got a Totem Hunter done this month, and I assembled a Razor Worm, Praetorian officer & standard, assembled/primed a Cyclops Shaman, 16 Praetorians, Hexeris.  I parially painted a Titan Gladiator, and partially assembled Praetorian Karax (the dang arms keep falling off, and I HATE to pin tiny stuff like that).

Holy League play, Batman!  I didn't get Cygnar things done at all!

I saw the Totem Hunter… looks great!  I haven't taken any pictures, but I did finish the Whelps, a pair of Swamp Gobbers, and I cleaned up a Brun Cragback & Lug that I got in a trade.  I have also assembled/primed Lanyssa, a minimum unit of Bone Grinders, Dahlia Hallyr & Skarath, Gudrun, Skaldi Bonehammer, and a Trollkin Champion Hero.  I converted an Impaler to double as a Bouncer and a Dire Troll Mauler to double (triple?) as a Bomber/Blitzer–fairly crude conversions, but I'm fine with it.

I am looking forward to trying everything out in the new season!

I took pictures of the Mauler/Bomber/Blitzer to show someone on the PP forums… figured I'd post them here as well.  I got the painted base Mauler in a trade.  Next are the Farrow Bone Grinders!
