Hello, and thanks for your interest in the 4th edition Dungeon's & Dragon's games at Endgame on Monday nights and Sunday afternoons.

Every Monday we have several D&D tables where a judge and 4-6 players can run through modules provided by Wizards of the Coast for their "Living Forgotten Realms" setting.   These games start at 7 PM and run to completion or 11 PM at the latest.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes before then as the doors close and games start right at 7 PM.  If you find you will be late or cannot show up, please call Endgame (510-465-3637) and they will relay the information to the game night organizer.

To reserve a spot at one of the game tables, please use our schedule at http://www.warhorn.net/endgame to see what games are listed and what space is available.  Though the sign-ups are very helpful for when we create tables, walk-ins are always welcome and we try out best to fit walk-ins to a table.  When signing up, if a red question mark shows up after your name, that means you are on the waitlist for a game.  If enough people are wait-listed (2 or more) we try and recruit an extra judge and run another table of the game.

The cost to play (payable to Endgame in the store) is $3 per player or $10 for 4 sessions.  Judges instead receive a $5 store credit.

These Monday night games are in the Heroic tier, or 1-10th level.  New players start at level 1 in the RPG.  On Sundays, we have a single table running the newer Paragon tier modules for 11-20th level.  These adventures can run up to 6 hours and space may be limited, so using the website to sign-up for those Sunday modules is recommended.

All the judges at Endgame are volunteers, and we encourage anyone interested in becoming a first time dungeon master to give judging a try once they are comfortable with how the RPGA 4th edition games work.  Make sure to thank your judges for doing their part in allowing games to be created and providing opportunities to play!  Judges also receive periodic rewards from Wizards of the Coast if they judge 5 or more times in a half-year period (if less than 5 times, the count is carried foward to the next half year period).  Judging rewards and information can be seen at the official DM rewards page, and currently is a 4th edition update to the classic 1st edition module "Village of Hommlet", complete with a full-color, double-sided battle map.

Some useful links:

The RPGA Character Creation guide, the first link at the RPGA downloads page.  New players, please note that new characters start at level 1.

A RPGA/DCI card with unique ID number, used to track play and DM sessions, can be aquired on game night or online via the the link at the official Living Forgotten Realms page.

The 4th edition character builder software created by Wizards of the Coast, with a free trial version for characters level 1-3, perfect for getting started.  Presently it is Windows only.

The official 4e rules updates:  "These updates clarify rules questions, correct technical errors, and improve game play."  Note that the character builder software receives rules updates.

A list of conventions at http://warhorn.net/main.  We won't have games if there is a local convention on the same Monday due to a 3-day weekend.  This will be noted on the Endgame schedule at http://www.warhorn.net/endgame.

The mailing list used by Endgame judges is hosted as a yahoo group at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/…..ame_judges.

See you at the games!

I am new both to the area and to 4th Edition D&D – I last played 2nd Edition after starting out with the red box basic set years ago… anyway my purpose with this post is to see if someone with no experience can join in?

Laugh   Sure.  Check out the Warhorn site to see when there's an opening to play a level 1-4 adventure, sign yourself up, make a 1st level character, and you're good to go.
