I was thinking over our game and I noticed a few things I missed. First was that I had another model which I forgot…Madelyn Corbeau, not sure she would have been that effective, but it was a few points I was not playing with.
Mainly though I completely missed using 'Beat Back' with my battle mages. I could have launched them fist into assault with your Champs and moved them out of base contact, then sprayed them dead or at least more so.
I think you may have commited your cav too early and to the wrong target being that they don't kill that many models each. I may have re-deployed them with their fast movement or just made sure I could charge all fo them into the MHSF had I been on your side.
Anyhow thanks for the game. Look forward to more in the future. Maybe next time we can actually finish.

Yeah, it was definitely a learning game. My list was not as balanced as it should have been–I ran way more multiwound infantry models than I should have more for the novelty than anything else. I committed the cav too early and also not hard enough… leaving them mid-range to weather a turn of shooting was a terrible idea and I had underestimated the MHSF. I'm also not sure that they pair too well with the Champs at 35pts since they fill a pretty similar role. I think I needed eMadrak closer to the front-line as well, given that he is pretty tough to kill and tears through infantry.
It seemed like you played your list extremely well, but just had a lot of armor to chew through and mediocre rolls. It would have been a good game to finish since we both still had so much left on the field.
I'm looking for to playing your Retribution again… maybe a Steamroller game next time?

Welcome! It is pretty easy to get a game most Tuesdays or Wednesdays using the "Schedule a game" forum. I wouldn't recommend just dropping by unless we're in the middle of one of the leagues and I'm not sure when the next league is starting up… during the league there are usually a few people most Tuesdays and Wednesday, although it still doesn't hurt to let people know that you'll be there beforehand. I think we may try and commit to a single night in the near future though, to keep things simple.
I'm free next week if you're interested! I try to stop by at least one night a week, often two.
