I will be running a pre-Kublacon Tourney held at Endgame Oakland on Saturday May 14th at 10am. The tourney will be free to enter and will essentially be a great way to test out your army before KublaCon's Golden Gargant Tourney(GGT).
General Format
This will be a 3 round tournament with 2 hour rounds beginning at 10am. You must bring an army with no more than 1850 points using any of the official Games-Workshop codices (including the relatively new Daemonhunters Codex) and adhering to the standard force organization chart. Forgeworld models may be used to represent appropriate entries from the respective codices but Forgeworld rules may not be used in this tournament.
Scoring
The scoring will be based on three of the categories used by Da Waagh Club (the fine gents responsible for running the GGT and Da Grand Waagh) in order to get the best idea for how well your army might score at the GGT. The three categories will be a paint score which will be judged by Anthony from endgame(because I am in no position to judge paint), a composition/sportsman score by each of your opponents and battlepoints based on how well you do in each of the missions and how many of the bonus points you receive.
Here are the sheets that will be used for each of the categories. They are linked from the Waagh Club's Website.
Composition Score Sheet:
Army Appearance Checklist (scoresheet).
Battlepoints will be awarded based on the mission but a total of 20 points will be possible for each mission.
Prizes
Three prizes will be awarded for 3 categories:
Best Overall: This prize will be awarded to the player who has the highest number of total points.
Best General: This prize will be awarded to the player who has the highest battlepoints.
Best Painted: This prize will be awarded to the player with the highest paint score.
Missions
STAGING GROUND
Overview:
After making planet-fall, the enemy has located an extremely vital strategic asset to the defense of the planet and plan to make this the
staging ground for their invasion. The location must be secured and you must prevent the enemy from taking control of the area. To have it fall into enemy hands would be disastrous to the defense effort (which could be a good thing for you! It’s all a matter of perspective!).
Objectives:
• Critical Objective: The Critical Objective will be worth 3 objective points and must be placed in the center of the board.
•Secondary Objectives: Each secondary objective must be placed in the center of each of the four table quarters. Each secondary objective is worth 1 objective point.
Deployment:
Deployment follows the rules for Spearhead deployment as is outlined in the rulebook.
Special Rules:
The Infiltrators, Outflanking, Scout, Reserves and Deep Strike Special rules are all in effect for this mission.
Game Length:
The Random Game Length rule from the 40k Rulebook will be in effect. Begin rolling for the end of the game at the end of Turn 5.
Victory Conditions:
Primary Victory Conditions:
The wining player is the player who has the scored the most objective points at the end of the game. Objectives points are awarded based on
the rules in the rulebook in that, only scoring units may control objectives if they are within 3” and there isn’t a contesting enemy unit also within 3”. However, different objectives are worth different point values. See the “objectives” category for points breakdown.
Secondary Victory Conditions:
If you and your opponent both have the same amount of objective points at the end of the game, the player who has scored more KillPoints than their opponent will be declared the winner.
Tertiary Victory Conditions:
If, for whatever reason, both players have the same number of objectives and the same number of killpoints, then default to victory points to determine the winner.
Draw:
The game will only be a draw in the extreme case where, after resorting to victory points, the difference between victory point totals is less than 185 victory points.
WIN: 10 Points
Loss: 5 Points
Draw: 7 Points
Battle Points:
Break Their Spirit: +1 Battlepoint for destroying all the enemy’s troop choices
Slaughter Their Champions:
+1 Battlepoint for destroying all of your opponent’s elite choices. If they do not have any elite choices, default to troops (NOTE: This means
that you will get a total +2 battlepoints for destroying all your opponent’s troops because of the Break Their Spirit Bonus )
Kill Their leader: +1 Battlepoint for destroying at least one of your opponent’s HQ choices.
Annihilation!: +1 Battlepoint if you scored more killpoints than your opponent.
Take the fight to them!: +1 Battlepoint if you have at least 1 scoring unit in your opponent’s deployment zone.
LINEBREAKER
Overview:
The invasion has commenced and battle lines have been drawn. You’re
tasked with breaking though the enemy’s line and paving the way for rest
of your forces. You must succeed here if you are to have any hope in
ultimate victory.
Objectives: There will be 3 objectives placed along the center line (dividing the table into two
halves 3’x2’) each objective is placed 12” from the table edge and 12” inches from each other. This should leave 3 objectives approximately 12” from each other down the middle line of the table. Each objective must be controlled as defined in the rulebook. The objective in located in your half of the table is worth 1 objective point if controlled and none if contested. The objective in the center of the table is worth 2 objective points if controlled and 1 point if contested with a scoring unit. The objective in your opponent’s half of the table is worth 3 objective points if controlled and 1 if contested by a scoring unit.
Deployment:
The deployment will follow the deployment rules outlined for Pitch Battle in the Warhammer 40k Rulebook.
Objectives points are awarded based on
the rules in the rulebook in that, only scoring units may control objectives if they are within 3”.
Secondary Victory Conditions:

Draw:
The game will only be a draw in the extreme case where, after resorting to victory points, the difference between victory point totals is less than 185 victory points.
WIN: 10 Points
Loss: 5 Points
Draw: 7 Points
Battle Points:
HOLD THE LINE!: +1 Battle Point if you have a scoring unit within 3” of the objective in your half of the table.
King of the Hill: +1 Battle Point if you have a scoring unit within 3” of the objective in the center of the table.
No Man’s Crossing: +1 Battle Point if you have a scoring unit within 3” of the objective in your opponent’s half of the table.
Into the Breach: +1 Battle Point if you have more scoring units in your opponent’s half of the table than you have in your own half.
BOOM! Headshot!: +1 Battle Point if one or more of your opponent’s HQ choices is dead or fleeing at the end of the game.
The final mission will be a rulebook mission to ensure that the final mission is as fair as possible and not gimmicky.
The final mission will be Dawn of War deployment and Kill Points
Battle Points:
If one of the choices is missing entirely from your opponent's list, the
default is troops (i.e. if they only have HQ troops and Heavy support, eliminating their troops will give you +3. +1 for troops and +2 because
the Elites and Fast Attack slots are missing.)
+1 Eliminating all HQ choices
+1 For Eliminating all Elite Choices
+1 For Eliminating all Troops Choices
+1 For Eliminating all Fast Attack Choices
+1 For Eliminating all Heavy Support Choices
