Every Saturday we hold our weekly Painting Clinic. This is always a casual day where people bring down their models, do some painting, share some tips and have fun.

On Saturday 2/5/11 at 11am, we are turing the clinic into a little more. The 5th brings us the release of Games Workshop's highly anticipated Stormraven model. Folks have been waiting for a Space Marine flyer for ages. We thought we would give you all a reason to come down and celebrate. How about a little contest? Pre-order the Stormraven from us, then come down that Saturday morning. At 11am, we will have everyone dive in, build their models, prime them, and paint them. After the end of three hours, we will judge them (based on the criteria we'll post in a couple days), and the person with the highest numbers wins a EndGame gift card for the full purchase price of the model!

How many prizes are there? We thought we would base that on participation. If we get 5 people to sign up, we will give away one Storm Raven. If we get 8 people, we'll do two! We get more than that, we'll add another. How's that sound?

Whoops, I missed that when Chris gave it to me to check.

Here's the deal. We'll start at 11:00am and go until 6:00pm as far as hobby time is concerned. Don't want to hang out 7 hours? No problem. When you are finished you can get your Raven judged. You and your model do not need to be present to win.

You will need to bring your own tools, we will provide glue, some primer and a place to prime. If you want anything special, like colored primer, conversion bitz or basing materials please let us know ahead of time.

The criteria for the judging:

There will be five categories, each worth 0 to 3 points, highest over all score wins, ties will be broken by a "player's choice" vote.

The categories are – Assembly, Conversions, Basecoating, Highlighting, Weathering

We are ready to take sign ups now. I will need preorders by 12:00 noon Monday 1/31. Please stop by the store or email me at anthony@endgameoakland.com to place your preorder.

Let me know if you have any questions. We already have two people signed up, lets see how many we can get for this first Hobby event.

That sounds super fun! Cool model, cool event idea, should make for a solid time! I love that we will be hobbying together, the more the merrier. Count me in!
