So, did you guys talk on Monday about picking a regular day of the week for Warmachine?  Sundays are pretty dead – the Flames of War crowd hasn't been present in great numbers on the Sundays I have been at EG.  Though perhaps the new Vietnam FOW may generate some activity.  And aren't Wed nights now empty, since the guys have switched to Maulifax?

Wednesday nights and Sundays seem to be the consensus thus far.

Should be in from like 530–830 tomorrow night, bring it on.  Finn, I've been pondering trading off my Khador stuff for Mercs after seeing Magnus in action the other day—way to go, just add fuel to the fire why don't you.

Hehe – after that beating you laid on me, I can't imagine why you'd want to switch…

I won't be around tonight but should be up for next week.

Ha, I'd hardly call that a "beating", just a "last minute sneak attack".  I couldn't find that Lich Lord Terminus set-by-step on Brushthralls, but I weathered the storm on my own.  So effing difficult man, that was really a test of patience, ingenuity, and gray stuff.  BTW, I figured out that *very* carefully using a dremel is the most amazing way ever to pin!  I also have reason to believe that the Citadel drill bits are way sharper than the bits that come with the P3 pinning kits.

We need to get a Mangled Metal (1 caster and a bunch of 'jacks) date up on the calendar, anyone have preferences?

Word, thanks for the tip—I can see the whole "feeding the model onto the bit" thing to be the way to do this.  I have only broken one bit thus far, and it was with that damned Citadel hand tool with those damned P3 bits.  I excavated it with a bit of ingenuity (though as you noted, it was a rather flush break), but the going was slow and arduous.  This, and the feeling of pinning in slow motion, is what prompted me to seek out powered means.  Low rpms make the world go rocking round.

Hearing you talk about pinning prompts me to ask advice.  Now that I've started building Warmachine models, I am faced with more working with metal models than I have done in the past – so I really must learn how to pin better.  I really haven't been happy with the results so far.  I do have the citadel pin vise and do like it, but can you give a step by step description of how YOU do it?  How deep do you drill?  How do you make sure the holes in the two pieces are aligned?  Do you ever try drilling both pieces simultaneously as you hold them together?  And what do you use for pinning wire?  What glue do you use?  Do you seek a hole that is tight and that the pin must be pushed into with considerable force, or looser fit?  And finally, is there a good online tutorial anywhere?

Just moved my response to the pinning thread in the Painting section.
