I bought the cygnar battlebox a couple of years ago to play with a friend but he moved away shortly after and I never got around to assembling the box. With the release of MKII, I dusted off the box and began assembling the models. While I have the pre-release rules pdf I am holding off on buying the book until I am sure I want to devote more energy into another miniatures game. So hopefully I will get the chance to play with you guys but I will definitely need someone to help show me the ropes at some point.

I do have to say if you are looking for some advice on painting (especially warmachine) you may want to check out brushthralls. Articles like the 'Faction Box in 10 Days: Cygnar' gives a great walkthorough for painting.

Hell yeah Chad!  Welcome to the club!  No worries about needing some help here and there, several of us are learning, and most of us are re-learning (with MKII and all).  Since the MKII cards don't come out until this coming week, what I've been doing is printing out the pre-release "cards" (more like half-sheets really), and sticking them into clear binder sheets so that I can mark on them and wet-erase later.  Feel free to swing by Endgame tomorrow (Monday), or this Wednesday to pick up a game or two.

Brush thralls is pretty sick, just discovered it two weeks ago—though I'm still busily assembling my Cryx stuff.  Dude, Finn, is this your tutorial on brush thralls: http://blog.brushthralls.com/?…..ge_id=3719.  Funny, I was intending on using that tutorial to paint my Khador stuff when the time came—just now connecting the dots haha.

Yep, that's my tutorial. I was a 'thrall and a contract Privateer studio painter for a couple of years, so I've got several others on the site as well. Let me know when you decide to get started. I still have that 'jack and a similarly-painted Juggernaut that I can bring in to show you.
